French world globe is gorgeous and very skillfully made. The gores are cut and applied by hand on papier-mache globe spheres. Gilles Robert de Vaugondy also known as Le Sieur or Monsieur Robert, and his son, Didier Robert de Vaugondy were leading mapmakers in France during the 1700s.
